The countdown is on for the 2026 NQ Games, and this year we’re working hard to introduce your favourite sports (and a couple of new editions) to the competition! While we’re keeping the details under wraps for now, we can promise that this addition will bring fresh energy, fierce competition, and a whole new level of excitement to the Regional Queensland.

As the largest multi-sport event in Regional Australia, the NQ Games have a proud tradition of showcasing a diverse range of sports, from well-loved classics to emerging athletic disciplines or modified sports.

Registrations for events will open in October-November 2025.

Age Policy

Junior boxers must be a minimum 10yrs of age on or before the first day of competition


Age Groups from 10 years to Masters by year of birth:

10 Years (Born 2014, must have turned 10 already)

Under 13 (Born 2012-2013)
Under 15 (Born 2010-2011)

Junior U17 (Born 2008-2009)

Youth U19 (Born 2006-2007)

Results

Boxing nomination fee $30 (NQ Games or State Titles) + the NQ Games Fee $33 (Inc GST).
 All boxers and coaches must be a registered member of Boxing Queensland to compete in the NQ Games and/or State Titles

Registrations for the NQ Games are made up of two fees, you need to register and pay on two booking sites

Step 1. NQ Games registration fee – entry into the NQ Games, a games kit and lanyard

Register and pay the NQ Games $33 registration fee here
Then go to the Boxing Queensland website

Step 2. Boxing nomination fee – entry into your sport disciplines for NQ Games and State Titles

Nominate and pay your Boxing fee $30 via Boxing Queensland website
Boxing Queensland nominations will be open from 1 March and close on Friday 19 April (11:30am)

Fees

  • Elimination and challenge bout style event open to all ages and experience levels
  • Boxing will be running the State Titles and the NQ Games consecutively
  • All entrants must register and pay on both sites or your entry will not be valid for the NQ Games
  • The $30 Boxing nomination fee is for all entrants in the State Titles or the NQ Games Boxing events
  • Boxing Queensland nominations will open 1 March 2024 and close Friday 19 April (11:30am)
  • Boxers who nominate but do not advise withdrawal after the draw is complete may be penalised
  • The NQ Games fee and the Boxing nomination fee are not refundable so please be sure before nominating
  • Youth & Junior Boxers can nominate for both the State Titles and the NQ Games during the Boxing Queensland nomination process.
  • If you only select to compete in the State Titles, you will not be eligible or added into the NQ Games draw
  • If you selected both the State Titles and NQ Games and you don’t get a match in the State Titles, you will be included in the NQ Games draw. You must register and pay on both sites outlined above
  • When on the BOXING QUEENSLAND website, if you only tick the U19 State Title event, you cannot compete in the NQ Games if you do not draw an opponent. You must select both State Titles and NQ Games below to be eligible to be in the draw for the NQ Games! You must register and pay through the NQ Games online registration portal to pay your NQ Games fee and through Boxing Queensland to pay the nomination fees
  • Please note: You will not be able to wait and see if you draw an opponent for the State Titles as the NQ Games registrations will be closed.
  • When nominating please nominate in your weight category, not your actual weight e.g. if you are youth, male & weigh 71.4kg you are in the 75kg weight division.
  • You must weigh in on or under your nominated weight division.
  • The $30 Boxing Queensland nomination fee (as per standard multi day events) will support our officials’ expenses, travel, accomodation and daily fees. This is payable during the Boxing Queensland website
  • The $33 NQ Games fee gives athletes entry to the NQ Games and athletes kit bags
  • You must register and nominate through both systems to be able to compete in the NQ Games
  • All Boxers must be full members of BOXING QUEENSLAND to register and compete
  • Female Boxers are required to complete a non-pregnancy form, please print and pre-fill the Boxing Australia Declaration of Non-Pregnancy and bring it with you, they will not be available on the day
    Boxers, NO red mouthguards
  • Competition headguards MUST be approved
  • All junior age (U17) and older athletes MUST have a current Serolory Report
  • Boxers who compete with soft contact lenses or orthodontic braces must have releases filled out and should have these for all competition
  • All Boxers and Coaches must be registered with Boxing Queensland as full members through an affiliated club to compete and enter the field of play. There is no temporary membership available
